Aaron Stelzer

Aaron Stelzer joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2019 as a Business Development Associate. His primary focus is identifying and interacting with potential clients seeking debt and equity solutions for their commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Stelzer held positions in both trading and sales, covering municipal fixed income, interest rates and FX at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Additionally, he worked on the buy side, advising commercial real estate developers and alternative asset managers with structured hedging solutions.

Stelzer, a Certified Treasury Professional, earned a B.A. in History from Arizona State University. He also holds a MSc. from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business, in Risk Management.

Alan Nessim

Alan Nessim

DIRECTOR

Alan Nessim joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as a Director. Based in Miami,
he will be responsible for originating, structuring, and placing debt and equity capital
for commercial real estate transactions nationwide.

Mr. Nessim is a seasoned real estate investment manager with experience across
asset classes. He worked as a principal with the Oxbridge Group and developed the
landmark 1430 K Street NW office tower in downtown Washington D.C.. Thereafter,

 Mr. Nessim served as managing director of inversions AR, a privately held real
estate investment firm with a portfolio including assets in residential, retail and hotels
in Spain. Mr. Nessim subsequently founded Hispania Capital, a real estate
investment firm sourcing and managing equity and debt on behalf of private and
institutional investors in the U.S. and Europe investing in opportunistic and value-add
transactions. Mr. Nessim has a track record of capital allocation across multiple fund
and co-investment vehicles, Mr. Nessim also served as CIO for Royal Palm
Companies featuring the development of Paramount Miami Worldcenter, and
structured the Participant Capital funds. Mr. Nessim began his professional career
working for Glencore International AG in Switzerland, where he handled
commodities related transactions and in excess of $2.5 billion in the metals &
minerals, mining and industrial sectors. 

Mr. Nessim holds a BA in Economics from Boston University and a diploma from The
Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Alima Omerbayeva

Prior to joining the firm, Alima worked as a Business Assistant at TraceAir Technologies, a California-based startup in the construction industry.

Alvaro Ruiz joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as an Associate. He is responsible for originating, structuring, and placing debt, equity, and ground lease capital for commercial real estate transactions across the U.S.

Before joining Eyzenberg & Company, Alvaro served as an Assistant Vice President on the debt production team at Citi Community Capital, the community development lending and investing division of Citi. In this role, he analyzed over $3 billion in debt financing for various multifamily projects across the U.S. Prior to Citi Community Capital, Alvaro participated in Citi’s leading global management associate program. During this time, he worked across Treasury and Trade Solutions Sales, Corporate Banking, and FX Corporate Risk Solutions in New York, Zurich, and London. He began his career as an Associate on the Investment Finance team at Citi Private Bank in Miami. Alvaro is also a U.S. Army veteran.

Alvaro holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business.

Andrew Hunter

Andrew Hunter joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2019 as a Business Development Associate. His primary focus is on identifying and interacting with potential clients seeking debt, equity, & structured capital solutions for their commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining Eyzenberg & Company, Andrew brokered the sales of multifamily properties outside of Philadelphia, primarily in New Jersey, for a national brokerage firm. While there, he parlayed relationship-building skills and creative thinking toward pursuing and developing successful client-oriented business relationships. Before brokerage, Andrew worked on Capitol Hill for a Leadership member of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., and, earlier, for the Federal Government in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Small Business Utilization, where he often communicated with, and produced work for, the Office of Secretary of Transportation and the White House.

Additionally, Andrew spent time working in microfinance institutions in Bangladesh and in intensive interaction with poor borrowers of the 2006 Nobel Prize winning Grameen Bank and BRAC (Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee), and with the UN World Food Program in Bangladesh and India.

Andrew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the South (Sewanee).

Andrew (Andy) Murray joins Eyzenberg & Company as a Managing Director and VP of Operations based in Florida and will be a member of the Firm’s executive team. In addition to originating and transacting on capital market solutions for clients of the firm, Andy will oversee certain mission critical operations of the company including deal screening, credit & operations.

Prior to joining Eyzenberg & Company, Andy has been a highly accomplished CRE investment manager & capital markets leader with a proven track record of success across more than $15 billion structured debt and equity transactions (senior and mezzanine debt, preferred and JV equity).  Andy has served as a managing director and senior team leader overseeing CRE debt and equity investment at Lehman Brothers, O’Connor Capital, Nuveen and Rubenstein Partners, and has also served as managing director and team leader raising debt and equity capital at Ackman Ziff and Northmarq

Andy received an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business in New York, and a BSBA in Business Administration from Georgetown University in Washington D.C.  Andy has held industry memberships with CREFC, PREA, MBA, Urban Land Institute, ICSC, and has served as guest lecturer on the topic of CRE investing at NYU School of Real Estate, Georgetown, Norte Dame and Cornell.

Ani Khachatryan joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as a junior financial

Prior to joining Eyzenberg & Company, Ani worked as a Planning and Budgeting
Specialist at Digitain, she played a key role in budget preparation across
departments, comprehensively monitoring monthly expenditures and analyzing
variances to optimize financial strategies. Prior to Digitain, Ani worked as a Financial
Analyst at Cognaize, and she specialized in detailed financial statement analysis,
contributing to the development of hybrid intelligence solutions for the financial
sector. Her earlier experience at Landmark Capital involved active participation in
market making and brokerage services, enhancing her expertise in financial and
investment services.

Bernard Clevens

Bernard Clevens joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024. His primary focus is identifying and interacting with potential clients seeking debt and equity solutions for their commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining Eyzenberg, Mr. Clevens ran a boutique consulting and investment company called Thematic Capital Group where the firm assisted nearly 50 clients in the financial modeling, due diligence, asset management and transaction support. The company also closed $22M in acquisitions across 3 assets.

Previously, Mr. Clevens supported Josh Richards, Managing Director and VP of Execution, at Arx Capital Partners, Richards’ capital markets firm, which successfully closed over $1.2 billion of combined equity & debt capital transactions.

Mr. Clevens began his career at a Denver-based real estate investment and development firm before working at Prologis (NYSE: PLD), the largest owner of industrial real estate in the world. There, he supported the financial modeling, investment committee process, due diligence and closing of 50+ transactions totaling $3.2B in acquisition and disposition activity.

David Eyzenberg

Edmond Sahradyan

Evan Dockser

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Evan Dockser joined Eyzenberg & Company’s Washington DC office in 2019 as a managing director. He originates, structures and places debt, equity and ground lease capital for commercial real estate transactions across the U.S.

Dockser’s extensive client advisory experience as principal with Dresam Advisors and Hotel B Investors, involved development, acquisitions and management targeting hospitality and residential assets.

Prior, Dockser participated in the acquisition and management of several national real estate-related operating businesses. He served as president of Hospitality Investors Group, a hospitality and real estate development advisor assisting clients worldwide with projects ranging from urban boutique hotels to large-scale master planned development. As chief investment officer for Legends Golf & Sands Resort, an owner and operator of 9 signature golf courses and over 1,500 condominium and townhome rental units, he completed a $50M+ recapitalization. Furthermore, he oversaw the conceptual planning of a 1,500-acre, master-planned community on the Island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

In earlier executive positions, Dockser specialized in business development and capital raising with national and international firms, including Wall Street Realty Capital, and NYSE-listed companies Friedman, Billings, Ramsey and MeriStar Hotels & Resorts (now InterState Hotels & Resorts). He has been involved in raising over $800M+ from both public and private sources. Dockser’s hospitality experience includes time spent working for Hyatt Hotels and Hilton International.

Dockser began his career in his family’s business, CRI, Inc., which, in the early ’90s, was the largest owner of multifamily housing in the country with over 100,000 units. At CRI, he spearheaded management and asset management for overseas clients in the hotel and golf course sectors.

Hadley Knaster

Hadley Knaster joined Eyzenberg & Company as a Managing Director in 2024. Based in New York, he originates, structures, and places debt and equity capital for commercial real estate transactions throughout the U.S.

In his prior role as a Director for a publicly traded investment management company, Hadley established and led the asset management of a newly formed bridge lending platform. This division capitalized the value-add acquisition of over 3,400 multifamily units across the Sunbelt. Additionally, Hadley oversaw multi-billion-dollar commercial real estate loan portfolios and investments at Arbor Realty Trust and various banks, including New York Community, Amalgamated & Peoples United.

Hadley holds a BBA degree from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and has completed the MAI curriculum at the Appraisal Institute.

Josh Richards

Josh Richards joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as a Managing Director and Vice President of execution. Josh will lead the Firm’s executive team and oversee the tactical execution of broad company strategies including scaling the investment and mortgage banking operations. Furthermore, he is tasked with overseeing all placement and execution efforts of the company including his own book.

Prior to joining Eyzenberg, Mr. Richards founded Arx Capital Partners 2019 which he successfully closed over $1.2 billion of combined equity & debt capital transactions. Simultaneously, he served as a SVP of apital Markets for National Healthcare Realty & Development, securing capital for all healthcare elated development projects and acquisitions.

Previously, Mr. Richards served as the Director of Debt for a Denver-based operator where he managed over $1.2 Billion dollars’ worth of debt placements for the firm.

Mr. Richards began his career as an analyst at GMAC Commercial Mortgage where he was involved in over $1.5 Billion of real estate transactions during his tenure. Josh would eventually become a Vice President in the Orlando office of the now rebranded Berkadia.

Mr. Richards graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Finance and a minor in International Business. He is an active member of ICSC, NAIOP, ULI and MBA.

James Mazzarisi

James Mazzarisi joined Eyzenberg in 2024 as a Managing Director.  James is primarily focused on identifying and interacting with potential clients seeking debt, equity, & structured capital solutions for their commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining Eyzenberg & Company, James worked as a Senior Vice President, Managing Director, and Team Lead at various banking institutions including First Republic Bank and Bank of Jackson Hole. He has also run his own debt brokerage company, KNJ Capital, from his home office in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. James’ lending focus has primarily been Commercial Real Estate and Multifamily, with particular focus on: complex hospitality transactions such as condo-hotel financing, workforce housing and mitigation projects, and multi-phase residential development projects. He has funded over $2 billion in transactions since 2010.

James has a BS in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an MBA from Regis University – Denver, and is a CFA Charter Holder.

Jim Breen joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as a Managing Director, where he leads efforts in originating, structuring, and placing debt, equity, and ground lease capital for commercial real estate transactions across the U.S.


Jim stands out for his hands-on experience and impressive track record. By the age of 28, he was recognized as Colliers’ top office broker and played a key role in the redevelopment project that became Ohio’s first LEED Gold-certified office building. He later transitioned to asset management, overseeing a substantial portfolio of 6 million square feet of office space. Before joining Eyzenberg, Jim served as Chief Strategy Officer and COO at a prominent family office.


Jim holds an undergraduate business degree from Boston College and an MBA from CS. His advanced certifications in Public Policy from the London School of Economics, combined with expertise in AI, Neuroscience, and Machine Learning from MIT, equip him with a broad and nuanced perspective, enabling him to adeptly navigate complex challenges.

Madina Tuyak

Lilia Eyzenberg joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2016 as Director of Finance and Human Resources. Ms. Eyzenberg oversees all accounting, finance and human resource functions, and assists with strategic planning.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Eyzenberg was an accounting clerk at Metalmark Capital and a tax preparer at Integrated Financial Services. Earlier in her career, she was an accountant at Prodigious Capital Group and a bookkeeper at Hunter College.

Ms. Eyzenberg graduated with honors from Krasnoyarsk State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Management. Additionally, she graduated summa cum laude from Hunter College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Maxim Yanovich

Maxim Yanovich joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2022 as an Originator. His primary focus is identifying and interacting with potential clients seeking debt, equity, & structured capital solutions for their commercial real estate transactions.

Maxim previously worked as a Senior Analyst at BNY Mellon. His responsibilities included managing business relationships, providing trade support to institutional investor counterparties, and maintaining a trade capture process, ensuring complete and timely settlement of derivative trade flows. After leaving the bank, Maxim advised small businesses on accessing working capital products. During his tenure, he is most proud of having established a strategic alliance with a corporate debt restructure group, providing consolidation and restructure assistance to those burdened by UCC-1 filings and other unsecured loans.

Maxim Yanovich holds a Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia University, where he studied Finance and graduated in 2019. Maxim is a proud Mountaineer and spent many of his formative years living in West Virginia where he garnered a deep appreciation for the Mountain State.

Margarita Alikhanian

Margarita Alikhanian

ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT ​

Margarita Alikhanian joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as Assistant to the
President. Her primary focus is on streamlining executive operations and providing
key gatekeeping functions.

Previously, Margarita worked as an Executive Assistant at EducationUSA Armenia,
where she played a pivotal role in helping students gain admission to top universities
in the United States. She provided expert guidance on educational resources,
navigated the complexities of the application process, and facilitated volunteering
opportunities to enhance students’ profiles. Margarita’s efforts significantly increased
the success rate of student applications. Additionally, she volunteered at the
American Councils, assisting with various events and contributing to their overall
success.

In her role as an Administrative Assistant at Renshin Urban Investments, Margarita
demonstrated exceptional organizational skills by coordinating executive-level
meetings and events, preparing detailed agendas, and ensuring seamless logistics.

Paul Garner is Associate Director of Eyzenberg & Company, a NYC-headquartered investment bank delivering full capital stack solutions for existing, transitional, and to-be-built commercial real estate projects. Mr. Garner resides in South Florida and has over a decade of commercial real estate lending and relationship management experience.

Previously, Mr. Garner was a Director at Walker & Dunlop, where he represented sponsors in capitalizing various types of CRE investments through utilizing relationships with a broad range of capital providers. Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Garner served as Vice President of Originations at Miami-based 3650 REIT, sourcing loans for its Stable Cash Flow and Bridge & Event-Driven platforms. Mr. Garner started his career in commercial real estate at CCRE, where he analyzed, structured, and originated conduit loans.

Ron Dooman

Ron Dooman

DIRECTOR

Ron Dooman joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as a Director. Based in New York, he will be responsible for originating, structuring, and placing debt and equity capital for commercial real estate transactions nationwide.

Mr. Dooman brings a wealth of experience to Eyzenberg. Before joining, he played a key role in the origination and underwriting of over $4 billion in new senior mortgage debt and contributed to managing Deutsche Pfandbriefbank’s $6 billion senior mortgage loan portfolio in the US. 

Previously, Mr. Dooman served as the Valuation Regional Practice Leader (SVP) at Newmark Knight Frank and led the Healthcare Valuation team for GE Capital/Capital One’s Healthcare/Medical Office lending platform. His expertise extends to financial reporting, healthcare, and multifamily sectors, gained through his roles at CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield. His earlier career experience includes corporate finance roles at the predecessor Japanese money center banks of MUFG and Mizuho, institutional CRE asset management at Walton Street Capital, and acquisitions of syndicated grocery-anchored shopping center investments at Weybridge Capital.

Mr. Dooman holds a BS in Finance & Accounting from DePaul University. He is a CFA Charterholder, a member of the CFA Society of New York and holds the MAI and AI-GRS designations from the Appraisal Institute.

Seth Shumer

Seth Schummer

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Seth Schumer joined Eyzenberg & Company as a Managing Director. His primary focus is transaction management and structuring advisory for commercial real estate finance transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Schumer served as Head of US Investments for Quadrum Global (formerly Cube Capital) where he grew platform from one US hotel investment to an 18-asset mixed use portfolio through new acquisitions, ground-up developments, team building and creation of three internal operating platforms (Tesseract Investment Advisors, Arlo Hotel Management and Quadrum Senior Living Management). While at Quadrum, Schumer acquired, capitalized and asset managed a hotel portfolio that includes Arlo SoHo, Arlo NoMad, Nautilus South Beach, The Godfrey Hotel Chicago, Essex Inn Chicago, and B Resort & Spa at Walt Disney World, and led the efforts to create an in-house hotel management platform and the new Arlo Hotel brand. He additionally led the efforts to develop a senior housing property and the Amavida brand.

His expertise in debt financing including loan underwriting, servicing and borrower relations was learned while working in London for ABN AMRO, and in New York for Chase Manhattan Bank and Chemical Bank. Whilst at AIG Global Real Estate and Real Estate Capital Partners (now CP Capital), he additionally gained asset management, development insight and JV equity structuring experience. Also, during his time at AIG, Seth was part of team that acquired four RTC loan portfolios.

Schumer holds a master’s degree in real estate investment and development from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland.

Sona Karapetyan

Sona Karapetyan

JUNIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Sona Karapetyan joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as a Junior Analyst. In her role, she supports the team with underwriting, financial analysis, and the preparation of financing memoranda for commercial real estate debt and equity capital raise assignments.
 
Before joining Eyzenberg & Company, Sona worked as a Portfolio Analyst at Ardshinbank CJSC, where she managed investment portfolios, conducted performance analyses, and advised clients on investment strategies. On weekends, Sona teaches at the American University of Armenia as a Teaching Associate for Introduction to Financial & Managerial Accounting courses. Additionally, she gained experience as an Audit Intern at Grant Thornton CJSC, where she prepared working papers, conducted ratio analysis, and tested the accuracy of financial data in compliance with IFRS standards.
 
Sona holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American University of Armenia, where she specialized in accounting and finance. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Management from the same institution. Additionally, Sona holds a Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification provided by the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI).

Stephen Kass

DIRECTOR

Stephen Kass joined Eyzenberg and Company in 2021 as a Director in its Miami office. Stephen is primarily focused on originating and placing debt, equity and ground lease capital for commercial real estate transactions across the U.S. Additionally, he will leverage his prior 20+ years of restructuring experience while focusing on distressed opportunities.

Mr. Kass was a partner in a Manhattan law firm practicing commercial bankruptcy and tax controversy. The majority of his clientele were commercial real estate developers, contractors and investors. He was also in-house counsel for a NYC developer focused on ground-up condominiums & hotel projects plus office and multi-family acquisitions. Prior to this, he was a tax consultant at Deloitte working in the financial services unit with clients in international banking and brokerage. Mr. Kass also worked for investment banking firms as a Director sourcing and managing deal teams in aviation, supermarket and energy. He is particularly proud of the restructuring services he provided to regional airlines after the September 11th tragedy.

Mr. Kass is an Attorney and a CPA and graduated from NYU School of Law with an LLM in taxation and from Hofstra University with honors in both its law and accounting programs. He is a commercial real estate broker in New York.

Veronika Mezhlumyan

Veronika Mezhlumyan

JUNIOR ANALYST

Veronika Mezhlumyan joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2024 as a junior financial analyst. She assists with underwriting, analysis and financing memoranda preparation for commercial real estate debt and equity capital raise assignments.

Prior to joining Eyzenberg & Company, Veronika worked as a Financial Analyst at Madison Capital Group LLC, where she focused on underwriting, market research, preparation of offering memorandums and deal closing for Florida based CRE transactions. Prior to Madison Capital, Veronika worked as a portfolio manager at the Central Bank of Armenia where she executed trades on various financial instruments and managed reporting on the state foreign reserves. She also served as a business analyst at INECOBANK, monitoring and reporting on the bank’s financial results. Additionally, Veronika worked as a financial analyst at Cognaize CJSC, where she analyzed and processed financial statements.

Veronika obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the American University of Armenia.

Zachary Shavolian

ASSOCIATE

Zachary Shavolian joined Eyzenberg & Company in 2022 as an Originator. Zach’s primary focus is identifying and interacting with potential clients seeking debt, equity, and ground lease capital solutions for commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining Eyzenberg & Company, Zach held a position as an advisor and analyst at a commercial real estate capital advisory firm. He underwrote and negotiated over $1 Billion of new debt and equity for various projects and assets across the nation. Zach also has previous experience working at a New York based real estate brokerage and a boutique real estate investment and development firm.

Zach holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with Magna Cum Laude honors from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business.
